Arts on Chicago Launch Party December 1 at The Chicago Avenue Fire Arts & The Third Place Gallery Join us on December 1st for an Arts on Chicago Launch Party! Twenty artists and artist teams are hard at work on their Arts on Chicago Projects, creating public art along Chicago Avenue between 32nd and 42nd streets. Pillsbury House + Theatre, Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association, Professor Natasha Pestich, Upstream Arts, and the Ward 8 Council Office of Elizabeth Glidden invite you to The Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center and The Third Place Gallery (both at 38th and Chicago) to hear more about the projects and to meet the artists. The event starts at 7 p.m. at The Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center with the introduction of the artists and leadership team. Councilwoman Elizabeth Glidden will moderate brief presentations about each project. After the program, we will move across the street to The Third Place Gallery, for an exhibition of the artist's work-in-progress and an opportunity to engage with individual artists. Refreshments will be served at both the Fire Arts Center and The Third Place. In true Third Place style, ping pong and karaoke will round out the evening. The featured artists and organizations all live or work in the four neighborhoods connected by the Chicago Avenue Corridor. They are: Patricia Anderson, Kelly Brazil, Breaking Ice, Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center, City Food Studio, Loretta Day + TAWU Artists Group, Dylan Fresco, Wing Young Huie, Masa Kawahara, Natasha Pestich, Pillsbury House + Theatre, Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association, Eric Reiger (HOTTEA) and Forrest Wozniak, Stephanie L.
