In an event jointly hosted by the 113 Composers Collective and the Third Place Gallery, Swedish ensemble Duo Gelland will give a performance on Thursday, October 27 at 7:00 PM of new music written by Twin Cities composers. Martin and Cecilia Gelland work to reinvent the violin duo, turning this 18th century concept into a driving force of contemporary exploration. In this endeavor, Cecilia and Martin Gelland seek to engage in mutually stimulating artistic dialogue with all those who listen to their performance. In this spirit, this Third Place Gallery event will be an informal evening of music in which questions and conversation are welcome. We invite you to talk with the composers about their work and to Cecilia and Martin about their experiences working with composers, children, artists, and listeners. This event is free with suggested donation, and open to all audiences.
