Third Place Salon July 16
Featured is musician Dan Gilbert—a CD release party!—who will give an acoustic performance. His debut album, The Great Recession Goodbye,
is a sweet and lonesome collection of songs about hard times and better tomorrows. Recorded in Minneapolis with Brett Bullion (drums) and Adam Wozniak (bass), the album melds electric and acoustic sounds, and evokes the songwriting traditions associated with folks like Gram Parsons, John Prine, Steve Earle and Jeff Tweedy.
In addition to being a songwriter and musician, Dan is a cultural historian. He has made his home in Saint Paul for the last three years while teaching in the American Studies department at Macalester College. www.dangilbertmusic.com
