Political Discourse/Discord in Conversation and Karaoke
April 13

Join The Walker Art Center and Northern Lights at The Third Place Gallery for political discussion through song and dialogue. The evening kicks off with one of Wing Young Huie’s “Chalk Talk” mixers, re-imagined to encourage conversations about politics that go deeper than the ubiquitous election year sound bites.

This is followed by political, protest, and patriotic karaoke. Our fabulous Karaoke Jockey, Steph Pituc, is busy compiling a list of songs both classic and contemporary. From Woody Guthrie to Rage Against the Machine (and everything in between) there’s sure to be something on the list that will make you want to take the stage or just sing along from the crowd. Beer and wine will be served.

This event is part of the larger gathering Discourse and Discord: A Public Symposium presented by Northern Lights and The Walker Art Center. Click here for the weekend’s full schedule of events.
